C-leanship welcomes Sanjay Vasudevan as new CEO

C-Leanship appoints Sanjay Vasudevan as the new CEO of the company following Morten Pilnov’s decision to relocate from Denmark and take up a new position as Executive Director in a global shipping company.  

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Sanjay Vasudevan as the new CEO, effective 1st February 2025. Sanjay will succeed Morten Pilnov, who has decided to step down from the role to take up a position as the Executive Director of the Belgian shipping company Exmar.  

This transition comes after careful consultation between Morten and the C-Leanship Board, resulting in the recruitment of Sanjay, who brings extensive leadership experience from A.P. Møller – Maersk and a proven track record in building value through long-term customer partnerships across both logistics and decarbonized shipping. 

Sanjay’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for C-Leanship. The company will continue its growth journey and its commitment to helping customers improve their biofouling management while also protecting marine life and reducing fuel consumption. The Board has given full support to Sanjay to continue the execution of C-Leanship’s ambitious growth plan, which includes expanding C-Leanship’s service offerings, growing the number of serviced ports, strengthening customer partnerships, and continuing to innovate in the area of ship hull cleaning and biofouling management.

Sanjay’s leadership is expected to build on the foundation the C-Leanship team has laid, driving the company to where it is today. 

 Morten Pilnov joined C-Leanship in 2023 and has played a crucial role in institutionalizing and scaling the company to a profitable path. Under his leadership, C-Leanship has improved operational efficiency and excellence, increased its customer base, and positioned C-Leanship for continued growth.
