Is cleaning by ROV cheaper than others types of cleaning?

Looking at the overall picture, cleaning by ROV is cheaper than other alternatives. The reason is that it is faster, has no depth limitation and can be done day and night. C-Leanship’ service also includes the possibility to clean in terminal while taking bunker, which means that the service will be done within a normal port call.

Can you clean during cargo and bunkering operations?

Yes, at C-Leanship we can clean your vessel during cargo and bunkering operations. This is due to our ROV and Navigation Technology as well as our many years of experience.

Why should we use ROV, when we can use divers instead?

There are 3 main reasons for using a ROV service instead of a diver service:
1. Safety; While there are many experience diving companies in the world, it does not remove the fact that it is a very dangerous job. By using ROV’s you remove the risk of human casualties.
2. Environmental Protection; Our ROV system has a collection and filtration system, which means that the biofouling will be collected, filtered and disposed of instead of being released into the sea and risking harm to the local environment.
3. Protection of Anti-Fouling Coating; Through a lot of testing, it is commonly agreed that ROV’s and especially ROV’s with waterjet technology are much better at protecting the AFC and thereby helping to keep the vessel in optimal operating condition for longer.

Does ROV's need daylight?

No, ROV’s does not need daylight as they will normally have lights and camera’s onboard. For most underwater services, they also do not have a limit on depths as most ROV’s can go to a depth of at least 50 meters or more.

How strong currents can your ROV handle?

Our ShipShiner 02 system can handle up to 1.6 knots of currents. The limit also depends on the sea state at any given time.

Our other systems have a slightly lower limit, but still high enough to be able to complete a job within a normal port call.

How long does a cleaning take?

Cleaning time depends mainly on: Coating condition, Fouling level and coverage, currents and vessel size.

We have an average cleaning speed of 1100 square meters per hour, which is more than enough to complete most vessels within a normal port call.

What do you do with the biofouling?

Our system has a collection and filtration system. This means that we collect and filter the water around our washing unit and take out the biofouling before the water is returned back to the sea.

We currently have a setup that filter the effluent down to 10 Microns.

What do you do if your system breaks down?

Our systems run with 95+% efficiency and with very limited critical errors. We also have all critical spares onboard our workboat, so that we can fix most issues straight away.

Worst case scenario and we cannot complete a job, then we will complete it in one of our other locations where the vessel calls or on the return call.

What types of Anti Fouling Coatings can you clean?

We can clean any type of coating. We do have most experience with self-polishing and fouling release coatings. We have different setups of our washing unit depending on the type of coating we are cleaning.
